The Writer's draft notes
Mary White whispered my name into my ear when I was sleeping. I bounced up quickly breaking out with sweat breathing heavy. I looked around my surroundings. I then heard footsteps outside my bedroom door. I glanced down at the bottom of the door way where there was a bit of light underneath. Shadows appeared as if someone walked and stood at the front of the door. My eyes widen. I looked at the doorknob through the darkness and heard it turned. I closed my eyes wishing that it was all just a dream. I suddenly heard footsteps coming into my room. The adrenaline of fear traveled through my body and was afraid to even open my eyes. The footsteps stopped and I took a gulp slowly opening my eyes through the dark. Suddenly a lightning flashed and there was Mary White staring at me. I jumped out the side of my bed and backed up to the corner of the wall. Mary White slowly approached around the bed and coming towards me. She began to extend her hands about to grab me when I yelled. I suddenly then woke up. It was just a dream.
I got out of bed and went into the bathroom. I walked over to the sink and placed my hands on the sink looking into the mirror. I turned the knobs of the sink and allowed the water splash onto my hand as it cascaded through between my fingers. I held my hands together using my hands as a cup and splashed the water onto my face trying to relax and more aware of my surroundings. And yet I was still tired. I opened the medicine cabinet to get some pills out. I closed the cabinet door and Mary White appeared through the mirror standing behind me. She was wearing raggedy clothes and her face was scratched and bloody. I turned around but she wasn't there. Before I knew it I felt my shoulders being grabbed. I broke free from being grabbed and fell over myself hitting my head against the tub. I rubbed my hand against my head and then looked up at the mirror. There wasn't anybody there. I must had been hallucinating again.
